Sisterhood

Temple Israel has an active Sisterhood, and newcomers are welcome to join.

• Sisterhood members have a monthly book group and meet several times a year for "Night Out."

• The Sisterhood operates the well-stocked Erma Cohn Memorial Gift Shop, located in our Social Hall.   Shop for a range of items including books, jewelry, gift items from Israel, ritual objects for the celebration of Shabbat, and greeting cards. Hours are by appointment or on special occasions as advertised in the Bulletin.

• The Sisterhood also has responsibility for the Friday evening Oneg Shabbat, Yom Kippur Break the Fast, and the Library; and coordinates purchases for the kitchen.

Sisterhood Meeting News

Approximately 30 members met for the December 2011 meeting and enjoyed a lovely meal of soup and sandwiches.  Welcome to our two new members!

FYI, the cookbooks have been selling well; and remember, they make a great present for just about any occasion.

The focus of this event is to make a recipe you enjoy and to bring a copy of the recipe to share.  It's an opportunity to promote our cookbook further, and we will likely enjoy a selection of recipes from the book.
